Himalayan Brewery Ltd. was established in 1980. HBL signed a joint venture and technical agreement with the pioneer Indian brewer, Mohan Meakin Ltd. Construction of the brewery commenced in early 1982. The first brew was produced on December 18, 1982. Regular beer production started from February 2, 1983 under the Mohan Meakin’s technical supervision. With this long journey surpassing 30 years, year 2010 marks a new beginning for this glorious Nepalese brewery.
Alcohol 5.5%, Kathmandu Premium Beer is specially brewed with natural spring water from Godavari, Kunakhola spring. It has a unique flavor derived from the Australian and European malts plus the German & Czech, bohemian variety of Saaz hops. It has moderate alcohol percentage and is matured for more than two weeks to give a mellow and smooth flavor. It has a smooth and clean taste and Danish character on account of the pure culture yeast imported from Denmark. It has the unique distinction of the first beer imported from Nepal to the United Kingdom.
Alcohol 7.0%, Iceberg Extra Strong Beer is specially brewed for the pleasure of having inclination towards providing a little kick. The brew is aimed to produce to give high percentage of alcohol than common strong beers. This beer will certainly satisfy your taste buds as well as delight of having a pleasant kick. The beer is brewed with the blend of choicest Indian and Australian malt plus the best German Hops. Certainly, it has a super-strong character in terms of alcohol, bitterness and colour. The beer is brewed with the natural spring water of Kunakhola and is fermented with the German yeast. The beer is matured for minimum seven days after fermentation. The beer is a blend of strength and character.
Alcohol 6.5%, Commando Super Strong Beer is specially brewed with natural spring water for the connoisseurs of the strong beer, who want two in one pleasure, i.e. both of beer and slight a pleasure of being away from mundane world. This beer is brewed with a blend of Indian and Australian Malt, a combination of smoky plus malty flavor plus the German Hops. The beer has more alcohol than the normal beers. This is likely to cause a satisfaction after a few glasses. The beer is fermented with the choicest Danish yeast to give a smooth taste but a strong flavor. The beer is matured for minimum ten days after fermentation.
